Troubleshooting for PDF Professional

Troubleshooting for PDF Professional

The page keeps scrolling down whenever I click with the Hand tool

This behavior may be set. Click again to stop the scrolling. If you do not like this, go to Edit > Preferences > General > Miscellaneous and change the behavior. Change Scroll down to Do nothing or Page down (a click moves the display half a page down).

I have unexpected behavior when I select objects

Be sure you are using the Select Object tool in the Standard Toolbar. Use Ctrl with this tool to select multiple objects (for instance to line them up).

The Select Area tool in the Standard Toolbar does not select objects but screen areas – for instance to copy them as image.

Touched-up text becomes colored and unreadable

You may have turned on the fill-stroke feature without realizing it, or gave unsuitable values. Open Touch-up Text Properties and select No color for Stroke color. To make this feature work well, the font point size must be at least 30 times bigger than Stroke Width.

Bates stamps are not applied

It is possible to specify a page range for stamping; if you specify an invalid range no stamps are applied, even though the Bates stamping is reported as done. Modify or remove the page range.

I cannot select multiple PDF documents to search them

This has been modified compared to earlier versions. To search multiple files, group them into a portfolio; then you can search all or selected files in the portfolio. Alternatively, copy or move the files to a separate folder and perform a folder search.

I cannot select a folder for a folder search

Select a drive then choose Browse at the bottom of the drive list. You may have to scroll down to do this.

Creating tagged PDF files

Tagging is not provided as a separate setting when printing to PDF; access it through profiles in the Create Assistant. There is a pre-defined profile Tagged PDF, but you can specify tagging within any other profile. Use the Tools menu in PDF Professional to tag an existing PDF file.

Hi,

In French version, it does not seem possible to customize the toolbars (button selection and location on the screen).

This was possible in version 4 of the Professional edition.

I reported to the Nuance support French team who was not aware of this issue. They will seek for a solution.

Has anyone found the way to save the toolbar configuration or a nice workaround?

Furthermore the buttons are really big in this version 6 and they took too much place on my screen laptop! I used to place the toolbars on the left and right sides of the screen in version 4. Thus I could use of the height of my screen.

Best regards from France

I am trying to commence bates numbering from a prior list (not done on our system).  If I enter a starting bates number higher than 512, the system automatically resets the starting bates number to 512.
