I bought Omnipage 17 to change patent PDF's to searchable text (Word Docs). Note that I previously owned PDF Converter Assistant and I thought that Omnipage would be an improvement. I am not pleased by either of them. When I convert a patent (for example, go to google patents and down load 3,755,823. Save the PDf and then run it through Omnipage 17. Columns are skewed and at times, if I highlight in one column, it highlights across the two columns - I also lose line numbers. What can I do to convert a patent PDF to a word document maintaining line numbers, column integrity and the like?
