You can save recognized text
and retained graphics to disk in a variety of file types. See Supported file types for more
information.
To save recognition results:
Choose Export
Results in
the File menu, or click the Export Results
button
with Save to File
selected in the drop-down list.
Select Text
under Save as in the Save to File dialog box.
Select a folder location and
a file type for your document.
Type in a file name.
No file name is required if you select Use
input file names or Use input
file names with subfolders under Naming options.
Select a formatting
level. The levels offered depend on the file type; one or more of
the following will appear: Plain Text, Formatted Text, Flowing Page, True
Page or Spreadsheet.
When saving forms in OmniPage Professional you should select True Page.
To export text in vertical orientation, select True Page or Flowing Page.
Select file options:
Select Create
one file for all pages to save all the pages in your document as
one file.
Select Create
one file per page to save each page in your document as a separate
file. OmniPage will append numerical suffixes to your file name to create
unique file names.
Select Create
a new file at each blank page if you want to divide large jobs
into separate files by inserting blank pages as separators. All pages
following a blank page will be saved as a separate file. See Loading
image files for advice on placing blank image files.
Select Create
a new file for each image file if your input is coming from several
image files and you want to create the same number of output files with
the same names but different extensions.
Select naming options.
Choose Use input file names or Use input names with subfolders when Create a new file for each image file is
selected. In all other cases, you must specify a file name. If multiple
files are generated, they are distinguished by numerical suffixes.
File options and Formatting level
are disabled if the Multiple 'Save as' option is selected. These options
are taken from the simple text or image converters that are included in
the multiple converter.
Select page range: All pages,
current page or selected pages
-
Click OK.
The document is saved to disk as specified. If View Result is selected, the exported
file will appear in its target application; that is the one associated
with the selected file type in your Windows system. You can also specify
a different application as a converter option for this file type. View
Result is available only if Create one
file for all pages is specified.
Click Options...
in the Save to File dialog box if you want
to specify precise settings for the export. See Save
Preferences for more information.
If in the converter options dialog
box Make changes permanent is
selected (it is by default), changed settings will be saved for future
saving to this file type. If it is deselected,
changed settings are applied to the current save, but not kept for future
saves.
