You can format paragraphs in the Text Editor by using the
Formatting toolbar or the Paragraph
dialog box from the Format menu. In all formatting levels except Plain
Text, you can change the alignment of selected paragraphs and apply bulleting
or numbering to paragraphs. The Paragraph
dialog box allows you to also modify indents, line spacing and spacing
between paragraphs.
The Text Editor's horizontal ruler lets you define indent
and tab positions easily.
Advanced tab settings are done in the Tabs dialog box from the Format
menu.
To change text alignment:
Select the text. If you want
to change text alignment for a single paragraph, it is enough to click
in it.
On the Formatting toolbar, click
the appropriate button.
Click
to have the text
aligned on the left.
Click
to apply a centered
alignment.
Click
to have the text
aligned on the right.
Click
to apply a justified
alignment. Space will be added between words to align text at both the
left and right margin.
You can also change the text alignment in the Paragraph dialog
box.
To add or remove bullets:
Select the paragraphs.
Click
.
Or, you can select Bulleted
in the Paragraph dialog box.
To add or remove numbering:
Select the paragraphs.
Click
.
To customize the bullet styling:
Select the paragraphs.
Select Bullets and Numbering...
from the Format menu.
Select a bullet style, then click
Customize...
Select the desired style, then
click OK.
To customize the number styling:
Select the paragraphs.
Select Bullets and Numbering...
from the Format menu.
Select the Numbered tab.
Select a numbering style, then
click Customize...
Select the desired style, then
click OK.
To change indentation:
Select the paragraphs.

Select the appropriate formatting option in the Paragraph
dialog box.
