Dragon Dictation for the iPad!

I’m excited to share the latest news with you this morning that the Dragon Dictation app – which millions of people have come to love on their iPhone – is now available for Apple’s latest innovation, the iPad!  In case you missed it, the iPad was announced earlier this year and is officially available tomorrow.

Perhaps the coolest news?  Just like its iPhone app cousin, Dragon Dictation for iPad is free (for now).  That’s right.  For a limited time, you can download the app to your iPad for free, and enjoy the remarkable accuracy of the Dragon NaturallySpeaking recognition engine to speak and save drafts of documents, emails, to-do lists, social media status updates, and more.  Oh, and you can do all of this about five times faster than typing.

Dragon Dictation for iPad goes a step further, capitalizing on the larger screen size to include the new Dragon Dictation Notes feature, where dictated text can be easily saved, viewed and managed.  Dragon Dictation for iPad can also be used in either portrait or landscape mode on the iPad.

So, to recap: Dragon Dictation for iPad.  Free.

For more detail on the application along with a link to the App Store, please visit the Dragon Mobile Apps page.  Also be sure to follow Dragon on Twitter @DragonTweets or drop by the Dragon Mobile Apps Facebook page.  Let us know what you think – we love to hear from you!

Hi

This is way off topic for this forum. I joined thinking I'd be able to ask about Omnipage 17 Pro! I'm hoping you can help. Is there a forum for Omnipage?

And if there is, how do you post a new topic? I've never blogged before - I've posted this here because I couldn't find any other way in!

Apologies and thanks,

Mary

I am a user of Dragon 10 and read somewhere that it would transcribe directly from a Sony recorder. If this is true, can it transcribe directly from a PCM unit?

This article totally fails to mention that this app is available in the U.S. only.

Australia also does not have access to this.

Is Nuance able to confirm to these people who are enthusiastic about using their product whether they will actually get the chance to, or are they not worth replying to?

+1 on availability in Australia. I can't stand when this happens, think outside the US people, we use technology too!

Indeed, can somebody of Nuance answer these 3 simple question: 1/ Why is it only available in the US, 2/ why is this mentionned nowhere and 3/ when will it be available outside the US (even in English only, that's ok).

Thanks in advance!

Here are the answers:

1) Dragon Dictation for iPad (and iPhone/iPod Touch) is available in US English, UK English, German and French and is available in the iTunes Store in US, UK, France and Germany

2) It isn't!
