Which Edition of Dragon?

One of the most common questions I get asked is "which edition of Dragon should I be using?".

If you ever find yourself thinking this, then pop on over to our feature comparison matrix, and you can select the edition that is most appropriate to your needs.

Most home users will benefit from the preferred edition not least because of the natural language search commands - "Search Wikipedia for speech recognition", "Search YouTube for Dragon NaturallySpeaking" etc.  You don't even need to start your web browser before saying these commands - Dragon does it all for you!

For a business environment I would always suggest the professional edition of the product, simply because it has an incredibly powerful macro scripting language, (amongst many other enterprise features).  This is based on Visual Basic, so if you have ever done any behind the scenes dabbling with MS Word or Excel, you will be very familiar with the syntax.

Even if you have never "scripted" before, it is really simple to pick up and aids productivity massively.  Just recently I wrote a script that pulled data off of a web page, and inserted this information into an email.  A task that previously took me a few minutes to achieve now only takes about 5 seconds - a huge productivity boost!

Does Dragon work on 64-bit Vista Business/ Ultimate ?

Or its still works only on 32-bit XP/ Vista ?

Dragon 9 Preferred works fine with my electronic medical record, while Dragon 10 does not.  (a pop-up with Dragon 10) advises me to use the medical version of Dragon 10.  I've not yet taken the plunge to try out the medical version.  But with 9 working so well, I'm inclined to stick with it and save some $.
